“A little context before I share about our experience with Emily:
My partner and I used to study in Brighton, a place that holds many fond memories for us.
When we were discussing the place to capture our special moment, naturally Brighton was our first choice. It was a rather impromptu trip, and we honestly didn’t expect to find a photographer on such short notice.
I think the perfect description to describe our encounter with Emily was “all stars were aligned for us to meet her.”
I came across Emily on a website called Hitched.co.uk.
She was one of the very first photographers to respond - and after very brief exchange of messages/ emails on how we wanted our photos taken at three different locations around Brighton, Emily agreed without hesitation. What touched us even more was that she isn’t actually based in Brighton as she had to drive all the way from Kent just to capture this special moment for us. We truly appreciated her effort and dedication, especially given the distance.
When we finally met Emily at Hove, we were definitely quite nerve wrecked with this photography session. It was our first time taking photos and being a foreign country, we couldn’t help but be a little self conscious. HOWEVER, Emily was an absolute pleasure, she was warm, approachable, and genuinely kind. Emily made the entire session felt so relaxed and natural.
Emily intuitively understood our shyness and cultural hesitations, and guided us gently throughout the shoot. Her encouragement and empathy really helped us open up and enjoy the experience. Before we knew it, the session was over, and to be honest, I think we had made a friend in spite of the fact that we met through professional circumstances.
We feel so fortunate to have met Emily and to have had her capture such a meaningful chapter in our lives. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer who is not only talented but also incredibly thoughtful, intuitive, and kind.

K&H and their forever moments 🤍 After a string of wedding-related bad luck (enough to make any couple nervous), these two danced through it all! Traffic on the way? No problem. A little rain? No problem. Even through it all, they kept dancing through the lightning strikes (Swifties unite!) When it came to choosing favorites, it knew I’d find it impossiblllllle! From Kate’s speech, lovingly hand written by her sister during morning prep, to Kate & her dad’s Land Rover ride to the farm, to their sweet pup delivering the rings. I don’t think I stopped all day, in the best way 🥹 It’s the biggest wedding gallery I’ve ever delivered! ~ so here we go, a carousel from the morning with more to come…

Alisha & Tom wanted to catch the last of the August glow in the orchards at their stunning venue, in the countryside in Canterbury @wooltonfarm ~ lucky enough to have been blessed with a warm, dry day… the fields were glowing in the hazy light, the trees heavy with fruit & the late summer flowers were clinging on. All we needed was a short wander from the main venue to capture their giggles and have a moment to breathe, it was pure magic✨ before we knew it, we had rejoined the guests ready to party! ✨🍎🌿

Alisha & Tom wanted to catch the last of the August glow in the orchards at their stunning venue, in the countryside in Canterbury @wooltonfarm ~ lucky enough to have been blessed with a warm, dry day… the fields were glowing in the hazy light, the trees heavy with fruit & the late summer flowers were clinging on. Through out my life, I’m always being asked “so what drew you to photography?” And honestly for me it’s a language. It’s a way of existing in a world that is actually quite chaotic. I’ve always been artistic, I found photography aged 15 (I’ve been doing this for 18 years 😭) and went on the study it at university. I always remember the John Berger quote in ‘Ways of Seeing’ ~ “seeing comes before words” and I have always connected with that. As someone who is naturally more of an observer than anything else, photography has always provided me with a way to exist within spaces. Overtime this has become a skill people pay me for, which I honestly don’t think awkward 15 year old me would have believed. 🥹🫶🏻 thankful for all the lovely people who see my worth and value what I offer, here’s a lovely little reel sharing the moment I presented Alisha with some Instax Mini’s on their wedding day 🤍 When I presented them to Tom, he said he has always carried an Instax photo of Alisha in his wallet, and that he will now be able to update it in the best way 🥹🤍

📷Photography has been my world since I was 15. I studied it at university, and decade ago I founded a community darkroom (shout out to my other business @thedarkroombc ) in Herne Bay to help others discover the magic of film. I offer film photography in my wedding & family packages so be sure to ponder if you’d like this for your day 🤍

💭For the past 8 years I have been capturing weddings and family stories, and I am endlessly honoured to be trusted with such precious moments. My style is relaxed and candid, working quietly in the background so you can stay present while I focus on those fleeting glances, soft touches, and bursts of laughter. I photograph with empathy and intention, always looking for the genuine emotions that tell the truest version of your story.

🌳When I am not behind the camera you will usually find me soaking up the great outdoors. I am happiest when I am plunging into the sea for a bit of wild swimming (yes, even when it is freezing), clocking up miles in marathon training (currently signed up to run @midnight_sun_marathon on my birthday next year!), or hiking along coastal paths and countryside trails. Being outside fuels my creativity, the changing light, the colours, the textures, and it often inspires the way I capture your love stories. And if there is a cosy coffee shop or a slice of cake waiting at the end of the adventure, that is just the perfect ending.

I'm still grinning from ear to ear thinking about these two, and I know I will be for a while! Can you picture a more serene and peaceful day? Absolutely hyped for the warmer weather we’re ✨finally✨ getting here in Kent. We are so lucky to be surrounded with so many beaches and bays, which basically become every photographers dream. With texture galore, from chalky cliffs to grass banks, sandy bays to pebble beaches, we are spoiled for choice. Exploring the woods with Georgie, Aedan, Isaac and Hugo last week was SO FUN! In my honest opinion, there’s no better place to be than in the woods, even better when you’re with the best people, and dog! The trees were swaying in the breeze, setting the perfect mood for this candid wander. Hugo had the best time stepping into muddy puddles, and baby Isaac was right at home being snuggled and loved. We even shot a whole roll of 35mm Ilford film (see the 3 images in a strip!) I was so excited when these guys got in touch to photograph their family, which has grown since I second shot at their wedding a few years ago (welcome to the world wee Isaac!) These guys are so full of love, optimism and joy, it’s contagious and my heart is full 🤍✨
